Accounting Clerk UAE opportunity with the European Union Delegation to the United Arab Emirates. The EU Delegation works closely with Embassies and Consulates of the 27 EU Member States and represents the European Union in dealings with the UAE government across areas within the EU’s remit. This role offers the opportunity to support accounting, budgeting, procurement, payroll, and administrative operations within a multicultural diplomatic environment.

Role Overview
The Accounting Clerk will support the Administration Section by providing accounting and administrative assistance under the supervision of the Head of Administration Section. The role involves financial processing, payroll assistance, budget monitoring, procurement support, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with EU financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities – Accounting Clerk UAE
- Provide accounting and administrative assistance within the Administration Section
- Act as initiating agent in the Delegation’s financial management system
- Verify invoices, payment requests, contracts, and related documentation
- Register invoices and financial documents in the accounting system
- Maintain financial databases and contractor approvals
- Encode requests, commitments, and de-commitments in accounting and budget systems
- Assist with petty cash management
- Support payroll preparation including overtime and salary calculations
- Assist with budget execution and compliance monitoring
- Track contract expirations, renewals, and amendments
- Prepare files for ex-post control requests
- Assist with procurement procedures and purchase orders
- Support VAT recovery request processing
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs for staff accommodation and Ambassador’s residence
- Assist with inventory verification and asset management procedures
- Support logistical and administrative tasks as required
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum upper secondary education
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, financial, or budgetary matters
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Working knowledge (C1) of English and Arabic
- Valid right to residence and work in the UAE
- Certificate of good conduct
- Medical fitness for assigned duties
